These pouches are made of exact specifications to meet very low moisture vapor transmission requirements. Our bags meet the MIL-PRF-131K specification, class 1. Each bag has 3 layers of protection. One layer is Film (Polyethylene for sealing) and one is aluminum. The third layer is a film. They work great inside of a time capsule to protect contents both inside and outside of the bag. For instance, some customers may wish to place an item whose inherent longevity is unknown (a Twinkie, a leather item, a rubber ball, a bottle of wine). Best way to handle this is to pack it inside of an MVP pouch (seal according to instructions - you can use a common household iron as specified).
Each order comes with at least one set of instructions, a sample piece of the MVP material to test on your heat sealing device, and seal release paper (to place in between your iron and the material to keep the material from sticking on your iron). Per Time Capsule Pouch
Specifications
Material used for making the bags: Laminated Film/Foil/Poly. Some vendors call these metallized poly bags. These are a thicker version and are safe for food as well as artifacts. They provide superior protection for items in long term storage, and can be used for EMP bags. Some of the bags have quality control printing on the outside. Bags were made in the USA. All of our bags are safe for food or artifacts.

Called a Time Capsule bag because you can use this bag as a Time Capsule. Comes with complete instructions for sealing it up.
Some customers have used this size bag for: Framed Pictures; Plaques; Leather Items; small Hollinger Metal Edge boxes. Place artifacts in box and then into the time capsule bag.
If you order just one bag we will include the instructions and sample piece to practice on, plus the seal release paper for your sealing device.

Measurements of the Bag
Measures 12" exactly in the width, with 1/2" on either side seam. Measures 18" from beginning of bottom seam to the top of the bag, so we say 17" in length. After inserting your items, you will heat seal this final seam. 12 inches by 17 inches, plus 1 inch on top for the seam.
