Q:
What is the difference between the clearance version of the personal time capsule and the one that isn't on clearance and costs $39.97?

A:
Both units are new. But the ones that we have on clearance are 'seconds' because of a scratch here & there, on the bottoms usually, often on the lid too. If you are engraving on the lid I'd recommend the first quality ones. We don't sell any that look really bad or have dents in them. We inspect all of our time capsules and look carefully at each one for imperfections. The ones on clearance or standard have something a little 'off' - but they are still nicely presentable and the lid is guaranteed to fit properly. In the case of this indoor time capsule, they lid is not threaded (twist off) but rather friction fit (slides off). They are sleek looking and heavy, and all stainless steel of course.
