Why a Preservation Kit?
The best place to start your time capsule preservation project is with a Preservation Kit. The K-3 includes a variety of safe archival enclosures for time capsule and archives items. It includes the popular Corrosion Intercept bags, special papers, photo enclosures, acid free tissue, and other hard to find items that are most useful for time capsule projects.
Archival supplies in our kits include archival papers, plastics, and tools to help you keep the items inside of the time capsule in mint condition. If you really want your items to last longer inside of a time capsule, you need a preservation kit.
All photo enclosures and tissues in the kit pass the PAT test for photographic enclosures. The Box Preservation Kit 3 Time Capsules includes special Archival Paper made of Permalife paper (rated for 300 years in storage). It comes to you in letter sized sheets perfect for photocopying or interleaving and in large sheets that work well for wrapping books and other items or simply as cushioning.Archival plastics include acid free plastic zip pouches in sizes designed to accommodate most time capsule items. Special digital photo sleeves make it easy to store those items. The long term storage MVP pouch is a special laminated pouch that you can close yourself with the special instructions included. You get some Corrosion Intercept pouches, too. They are designed to safely enclose CD and DVD media as well as metal items such as common lapel pins and coins and even ballpoint pens.
