Style 4500 & 4550

These plain style time capsules provide an affordable alternative designed for museum folks and those who are already knowledgeable about document preservation and safe artifact storage.

• Material: 304L stainless steel of .075” thickness.
• FINISH: Natural.
• CLOSURE: Welded-closure.
• AIR CONDITIONING: Conversion via oxygen absorbers, conditioning via silica gel (included).

450xx: Factory Closure. Send us your items to place into the time capsule and we professionally weld it closed, adding the right amount of Ageless and Desiccant conditioners and cushioning. We then ship it back to you for placement.

455xx: Customer Closure. We send you the time capsule bottom and top, with welding instructions for your own certified welder to close and conditioners to extract air.

• All capsules include Ageless oxygen absorbers and silica gel conditioners. For customer closure style, we estimate your capsule to be 3/4 full. For factory welded closure you get the exact amount needed, no matter how empty you capsule is.
• Use one of our preservation enclosures kits for additional protection for contents while in storage. Estimate the size of kit needed by comparing cubic inches of each.
• Customer closure option includes instructions for a certified welder.
• Place in either a vertical or horizontal direction.
• Laser Engraving Available
• If closure is welded properly, capsule is considered safe for burial up to 200 years or more depending upon conditions of placement.

NOTE: Allow up to 6 weeks’ fabrication time if not in stock. Call for availability if you want a size that is not included here. We try to keep certain sizes in stock, and we can verbally hold a capsule for you for 24 hours pending final order status. If capsule is in stock, we can usually ship Customer Closure capsules within 3 working days after payment.

During the planning stages of your time capsule project, you might consider making a mock-up box to help you visualize what capsule size you will need. Be sure to figure a size high enough for your longest item, even if on the diagonal.
