A Letter from the President

Thanks for your interest in our time capsules. I'm enclosing pricing and other information for some of our time capsules and related materials. There may be more info at our web site, www.futurepkg.com, and that is the place to go for updated pricing. You may also be able to order online there soon. We have several very different time capsule models. They are all currently made from a special stainless steel. We have determined that material to be the best choice for most of our time capsules.

For larger time capsule placement, usually for an organization, we offer a few different styles of boxes.

  • A bolted model (Style 3000) that can be safely buried for up to 100 years or more, depending on conditions.
  • Welded closure models (Style 4500) are ideal for burial. They can be made to most any size, and they are safe for periods up to 200 years or more, depending on conditions. The 4000 includes complete preservation of your contents (if accepted) and final closure with oxygen extraction; the 4500 series includes only minimum preservation with various parts of the process being done by the customer.
  • A simple capped model (Style 4200) has a cap that is attached to the body via non-corrosive silicone sealant. When placed inside of a building or other protected area, this capsule may be all you need, and the estimated life of this capsule's seal is 75 years. The capsule comes with sealant, conditioners, and complete instructions.

The box time capsules can be easily polished or painted. Polishing makes the capsule an art piece, and it is very beautiful to see. Painting is not only cosmetically appealing, but it adds protective moisture resistance over time-an important consideration when your capsule is buried.

All capsules are priced with a natural finish, except the following cylindrical styles that are pre-fabricated and have been polished already. Currently, the sizes of these tube-shaped capsules are, from longest to shortest:

· 6"diameter x 24" tall (MR. FUTURE)
· 5.5" diameter x 22" tall (MRS. FUTURE)
· 3.5" diameter x 12" tall (SALLY), and
· 7.75" diameter x 9" tall. (ARNOLD)

Popular options that go along with any time capsule project:

  • Engraving of the time capsule lid. Simple engraving of wording is available, as is a more detailed laser engraving that can accommodate a logo or other design.
  • Cast metal plaque identification. Make sure your capsule is found by using a simple plaque for identification. They are usually made of bronze or aluminum that is cast into a form with your wording, but we also offer etched metal plaques in a variety of metals, including stainless steel, aluminum, brass, zinc, and others.
  • Our books: Your Time Capsule: Brainstorming Container & Ceremony and A Sampling of Time Capsule Contents. Brainstorming is good when you begin a project and poses things to consider in a capsule. Sampling is good for showing you things that have been placed in time capsules historically and will help you decide what to put in your own capsule. We also have a new retail package, the Baby Treasures™ Time Capsule & Book set.
